This is the 108 yen Sushi-go Round down the street from our house. All the food is on a conveyor belt and you just grab what you want....YUMMY! One of my favorite restaurants, you get to watch the chefs prepare the food and just grab anything that looks appetizing. All this and I can normally get out under 1000 yen ($10) for a filling meal.
This is definitely Brandt's fav restaurant called Ra Ra Ramen. Every time you ask what Brandt's wants to eat he will say, "Ummm, do you feel like Ramen?" I can only eat it so much but I think Brandt could eat it everyday, three times a day if given the option! They play English top 40 music there too.
One day Brandt took his parents on a hike up this random mountain trail he found one day on his bike ride. Yes, the same bike ride where a car pushed him off the road and he flew off his bike. Thank goodness for helmets!
This is the name of the Mountain Trail, but once again, I can't read Kanji!
The views from the top are gorgeous. Too bad it wasn't a clear blue day!
Once again, another example that Japanese hikes are NEVER flat. All up hill on this hike.

Last time we were in this area, we saw rows and rows of these sculptured bushes. Thank goodness for Connie and the plant book as she figured out these are tea leaf plants. I wouldn't mind having some in my front yard. Nice looking!

Then of course, the day we want to look at 99 islands, it is pouring. So we tried to make the best of it. We stopped by Shirohama Beach, the only swimming beach around. The water gets so hot in the summer though that is isn't very refreshing. Definitely not this day though! Ken looked all over for shells.

Isn't this just appealing?! Such a beautiful day. But you can see 99 islands in the background...I've said this before, but 99 islands is the opening scene in "The Last Samurai" with Tom Cruise. Although Tom wouldn't come to our neck of the woods so all his scenes were filmed up near Tokyo. Too good for Sasebo apparently!
We found some more Cherry Blossom Trees. Yeah! Not too much longer until all the rain blew the blossoms off.
After all that cold, always nice to finish off with a cold frosty beverage! We took the visiting Orthodontist, Chad, out to Yakatori (same place where we went with my parents). So good!
Finishing with something a little different, this is a Japanese Hearst. Huge gold carriage on back carries the body. Not sure how it works though since most people in Japan are cremated. That is definitely something to ask my assistant Miho now that I think of it.
